Ref: Deuteronomy 29:29

‘The secret things belong unto the Lord our God…’

Man has always been intrigued by the unknown and in His search seems to look for everything everywhere trying to find the answers to the questions of Life and always comes up miserably ‘short’. And, eternally frustrated and empty. There are some things that God in His sovereign omnipotence chose not to reveal to us. (John 21:25).

So ought we to concentrate on that which has been revealed, those things that a loving God chose to give to us and allow us to experience:

  • He has revealed His plan for the ages and His will for our lives in 66 books called the ‘Bible’ (ref: 2Timothy 3:16)
  • He has revealed Himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ (ref: Matthew 1:23)
  • He has revealed His presence to us by giving us His Spirit (ref: Acts 2:4)
  • At an appointed time, a revealed ‘due time’ Christ died for the ungodly which is all of us (ref: Romans 5:6)
  • By and through Christ all flesh will see the salvation of the Lord (ref: Luke 3:6)

Going forward, let’s concentrate as the Church of the Living God on the things He has revealed to us and in turn take that to a lost and dying world.

1Corinthians 2:9-10 says, ‘(v9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  (v10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

  1. 2Tim 3:16, ‘All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.’
  2. Matt 1:23, ‘Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.’
  3. Acts 2:4, ‘And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.’
  4. Luke 3:6, ‘And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’

Three  Types  of Love

  • eros: passion, physical love; sexual love
  • phileo: affection; noble love, respectful friendship love,
  • agape: (Charity) divine love; God kind of love, unconditional love. To love without expecting love in return.

In chapter 12, Paul teaches on spiritual gifts. Paul said not to be ignorant of these gifts. Then he goes into the great love chapter and says the proper place of gifts are under the action of agape love. For instance, this means we can be backslidden and still have spiritual gifts.

1Corinthians 13:1-3 says, ‘(v1)Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. (v2) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. (v3) And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing.’

Again, this means we can be backslidden and still have spiritual gifts.

1John 3:14 says, ‘We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not his  brother abides in death.’

If that is true, the value of Gifts although important, they are far below love.

Eloquence of speech – not possible to speak as an angel; without agape love, it is nothing.

Love never fails or quits (agape love).

Gift of prophecy (knowledge) without love, we are nothing. Word of God is flawless; to preach without love is nothing.

Case in point:  Though I have all faith that I can move mountains, without love, there is nothing.

Not all that says, ‘Lord, Lord’ will see the Kingdom of Heaven.

What is Truth?  People have a million answers for that one simple question.

For example:   It is true I live in the U.S.A      It is true that I will soon have Grandchild #7 (wow)

It is true That I drive a Chevrolet,    However any of these things can change,  more Grandchildren

I could move to a new country or buy a Ford!

So what is the Difference between something being True and Truth,   The Truth Never changes!

The Bible Declares that Our God Is a God who does not Change (mal 3:6)!

His Grace and Mercy endures Forever, his Love is everlasting (john 3:16)  and His purpose and plan’s for you and I are always whats best for us. (jer. 29.11)

In the midst of this ever changing world we live in You can be sure of this  God through his son Jesus Christ is saying

“Come unto to me and I will give you rest”.

Ask Jesus into your heart today,  Repent (turn away from sin) and exhibit Faith in the finished work of Christ (John 19:30)   and you will know “The Truth that makes you Free”.
