‘The secret things belong unto the Lord our God…’
Man has always been intrigued by the unknown and in His search seems to look for everything everywhere trying to find the answers to the questions of Life and always comes up miserably ‘short’. And, eternally frustrated and empty. There are some things that God in His sovereign omnipotence chose not to reveal to us. (John 21:25).
So ought we to concentrate on that which has been revealed, those things that a loving God chose to give to us and allow us to experience:
- He has revealed His plan for the ages and His will for our lives in 66 books called the ‘Bible’ (ref: 2Timothy 3:16)
- He has revealed Himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ (ref: Matthew 1:23)
- He has revealed His presence to us by giving us His Spirit (ref: Acts 2:4)
- At an appointed time, a revealed ‘due time’ Christ died for the ungodly which is all of us (ref: Romans 5:6)
- By and through Christ all flesh will see the salvation of the Lord (ref: Luke 3:6)
Going forward, let’s concentrate as the Church of the Living God on the things He has revealed to us and in turn take that to a lost and dying world.
1Corinthians 2:9-10 says, ‘(v9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (v10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
- 2Tim 3:16, ‘All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.’
- Matt 1:23, ‘Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.’
- Acts 2:4, ‘And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.’
- Luke 3:6, ‘And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’
